I have been in the Nordic scene for 40 years. Long enough to see waxing go from classic and a colder kickwax on the tips and tails, to the express train of waxes we have today. I coached the Town of Webb Schools nordic team for 20 years and have been the head wax guy for the Mid-Atlantic Ski Team for 10 yrs. I have waxed with all kinds of waxes in all situations and time and again Swix has been at the top. They (in my opinion) have the best wax off the shelf on the market today! Stop me on the trail sometime and I will tell you a story of how Swix wax made average skiers excel in races of importance.

There are some who believe that Mark Nadell has been involved in the cross country ski industry since the stone age – the LIGNO-stone age, from the days of wood skis and pine tar. One of the few around who can still remember when Swix first introduced “Special” and “Extra” waxes, Mark has been a cross country skier, ski rep, salesman, marketing specialist, graphic designer, photographer, and writer for over 30 years. He might be best known for his role as the flamboyant polyester-wearing Auctioneer for the annual Far West Nordic Fundraiser. In addition to his graphic design business, Mark is also a coach for the Far West Juniors and Truckee’s Middle School Nordic team. He is considered one of the top wax technicians in the region.
