Michigan High School State Championship - Classic Sprints (Saturday afternoon )
Glide wax recommendations
Base wax - LF6X
Race wax - HF6X
According to the weather forecast as of Thursday, the ideal wax in the afternoon should be HF6X. With the time constraints between the morning races and afternoon, it may not be possible to change waxes. The recommended morning wax of HF5X should still work great.
Also keep checking the weather for changes in the forecast.
Remember to brush out well the HF6X after you iron it into the base. Scrape, brush 3-4 times with the fine steel brush, then the medium bronze brush. Then use a horsehair or boars hair brush, finishing with the blue polishing brush..
Binder - VG35 ironed in
Kick wax - VR40 and VR30. Apply 2-3 thin layers of VR40 according to the shape of the wax pocket, corking each layer smooth. Add additional layers at the race start area as needed. Final layer of a very thin full length layer of VR30 corked smooth.
It is advisable to be prepared to change kick waxes based on the actual conditions.
