Ski Preparation
Clean skis with Swix BP99 base prep or CH10 by doing several 'hot scrapes'. Scrape and brush (tip to tail) using Swix Base Brush Fine Steel or Brass. This is critical to “open” up the base to receive a proper amount of wax. Finish with several passes using Fibertex.

Extra Range: Apply a base layer of Swix LF6X This will broaden the range of the base. Scrape and brush with Swix White Nylon brush. The LF as a prep will also increase durability and widen the range of the race wax Topcoats.

Race Wax-Glide
Fun: Prep as detailed above – LF6X/7X final layer – cool completely, then scrape and brush with Swix Horsehair Brush.

Expert: Use Swix HF 6X/7X as the final 2 layers – cool (30 minutes minimum), scrape and brush. Or Swix HVC Warm provides a real advantage as the final topcoat over LFX or HFX waxes. Finish with Swix Blue Nylon brush.

Master: Swix HF 6X/7X or Marathon DHF mid-layer, scrape and brush - finish/cover with Swix Cera FC7X powder, Final brush with Blue nylon 8-10 strokes. Last- apply Swix HVC as the final topcoat and do not cork or work into the sublayers. This ensures the fastest start and will be a HUGE competitive advantage later in the race.

Kickwax recommendations

Race Wax-Grip
Prep Kick zone with 150g sandpaper and apply base binder or VG535 Klister spray. Apply Violet klister and cover with VR45N violet...or adjust as race temps require.

Ski Structure
The mild temps and transformed snow with relative humidity will favor a light to medium structure: 0.5mm Fine structure #TO401F or 0.75mm Med structure #TO401M. Combined with the Swix Ceranova high/pure fluoro topcoats will be strikingly fast.
