How goes your season this year? Anything new with training? Any big changes for your training?

So far, so good with training this year! We've had some really solid training camps in Bend and Alaska where we were able to put in a lot of hours on snow and in between camps, I've been able to have some good periods of time back in Stratton. I'm making a little jump in volume this year, so I've been extra careful about monitoring my recovery to make sure I'm absorbing the bigger hours. I've been enjoying balancing our on snow training camps with some mountain running and mountain biking dryland adventures when I'm not on snow. It's been awesome to get into a good training routine in June and August with my SMS teammates back in Vermont.

What's upcoming for you in terms of travel and training?

 I have a couple more weeks in Vermont before heading to New Zealand for our next on snow camp. We will be in New Zealand for the first two weeks of September and then I'll head to Colorado for a week on my way back to Vermont. I'm planning on spending most of the month of October out in Park City and then having a few weeks back in Vermont in November before heading to Europe for the winter. 

What will be your first races this season? And how will you ramp up to your goals? What are those goals this year?

 My first races of the season will be in Kuusamo, Finland at the end of November. I plan on staying in Europe for the winter and racing most of the World Cup circuit. My goals are to build off of a strong season last year and carry that momentum into the new season. I'd like to increase my endurance and fitness in both the rounds for sprinting and some shorter distance racing. My main focus will still be sprinting, but my goal is also to make a jump in my distance skiing as well. I've been working a lot on getting stronger this summer, so I'm hoping that will pay off on the trails!

 Anything else to add?

The summer is flying by and the season will be here before we know it. My off season has been going great and I can't wait to be back racing on the World Cup!
